 FAQs

  • When you’re ready to book an audit, fill out the contact form and I’ll respond within 1 working day. We’ll find a time that suits us both for a 30 minute consultation call, where you can tell me about your site and customers, and what level of audit you would like. We will also discuss timings based on your needs and my availability. There is no obligation to book an audit after this call.

If you would like to proceed with an audit, you will then need to send over the payment in full to secure your audit slot. The audit will be conducted in the next available slot after payment is made. The length of time the audit takes will depend on its complexity, but I will advise you of rough delivery dates when payment is received.

  • A core journey is the actions a user must take on your site to fulfil their goals. For an eCommerce site, that could be finding a product, adding it to their basket and completing the checkout process.

We will work together to identify your most important core journeys (based on your business KPIs) and I will conduct my audit on these journeys as if I am one of your customers.

Depending on the size of your site and level of audit, I can also review any additional pages which are important but not part of core journeys.

  • I can identify bugs or errors that impact the user journey, but I don’t conduct thorough technical reviews of your site and I don’t make technical recommendations. I’m not a developer! So it’s not my area of expertise. However I do know some excellent developers I can recommend if you need technical support.

I also don’t make design changes, because my background is in UX Research rather than design, but again I can recommend designers if you need design support.

  • A basic accessibility evaluation as part of a UX audit will be conducted on a maximum of 1 core journey (additional journeys available at an extra cost). Each page in the core journey will be evaluated against WCAG 2.1 Level A & AA success criteria, with additional checks for screen reader basics, keyboard navigation and colour contrast.

If you would like a more in-depth accessibility audit, we can discuss a bespoke offering that would be charged based on my day rates.

  • Yes! The different levels of audit are there as a guideline - if you would like additional services not included in the level you select, we can add on what you need with total flexibility.

Please note that additional services will be charged at an hourly rate and will affect estimated delivery timelines - all of this will be discussed with you before booking.

  • That’s completely up to you! Once the report is completed, I will arrange a delivery call with you to talk through key findings and recommended next steps. Each report will have actionable recommendations, categorised based on type: e.g. quick improvement, experimentation idea, strategic insight, research needed etc.

I would be more than happy to work with you on any recommendations involving UX research and strategy. If you’d like to continue working together, we can then discuss what needs doing and what costs are involved.

Equally, if you just want the UX audit and nothing else, that’s absolutely fine! I will never pressure anyone to pay for services they don’t want.
